Sticker – Peel and Stick
- Sticker Inside: This is your standard type of peel and stick die cut sticker. These stickers are often sent in either die cut or kiss cut application which just means you peel them from a backing and apply them to the inside of the glass with the image facing out.
- Sticker Outside: This is the most commonly seen type of peel and stick die cut sticker. These stickers are often sent in either die cut or kiss cut application, depending on batch. You will just need to peel them from a backing and apply them to any clean and oil free surface. Such as a toolbox or fire wall.
Now Lets talk about how to apply Decals:
Both DLX and our standard water slide decals are both applied in the same manner. The only difference is that our DLX decals will not need to be cut first. As they come to you die cut and ready to move forward. So please disregard the cutting step in the application process.
Here are the items you will need for this process.
- Water slide decals
- A dish of water
- Scissors or Hobby Knife
- Paper towels or rage that doesn’t leave fibers.
- Glass Cleaner
- Dish Soap
- Bowl of warm Water
- A sharp #2 Pencil
- Your Preferred Bible – In case it all goes to hell.

1.Trim Your Decals
Standard decals are delivered block cut. This means they need to be trimmed before applying as they are printed on white backing. So anything you leave on the decal will show. The best method to do this is to use a glass table and place a light under it. You can either cut the decal on the table or you can use a pencil to draw a faint line around the design to use as a cut line.
Then carefully trim the decal down so that it achieves the desired look.
2. Clean The Glass
Make sure to use a good glass cleaner and clean the glass in your Classic before applying the decal. This will insure no oils will reduce the adhesive properties of the decal film while it is drying. Keep that water bowl handy you will need to make sure the glass is wet when applying your decal. Water wet. Not cleaner wet. This is very important.
3. Time For A Soak
To start this process you will need to make sure the water in your bowl is warm. Not HOT! Drop the decal into the water and you will right away see it curl up. That is normal. Don’t Panic. Leave the decal in the water for around 2 minutes. While it soaks make sure to rub a little of that water on the glass so that you are applying to a (water) wet surface when it’s time. When 2 minutes are up take your decal between two fingers and ever so slightly give it a skew. If the decal slides around on the backing paper without grabbing the paper and holding on for dear life It is time for the hard part.

4. Lets Stick It!
With the inside of the glass being wet, take the decal and place the backing paper toward the glass. With the decal still in place on it’s back. Taking what should be wet fingers at this point slide the decal partly off one side of the backing paper only about an 1/8th of an inch or so. Not enough to curl. Place the decal into the location you wish to stick it. Holding the decal on the side you slide free hold the film against the glass and with one motion slide the backing paper away from that finger. The decal should stick against the glass as the backing is being pulled free. Once free of the backing paper use a wet surface of your finger tip to work out any bubbles. Making sure to not curl or scrunch up the decal. Once it is free of bubbles feel free to tap it lightly to remove and water droplets that might still be lingering. Again make sure not to slide the decal around with the paper. Or it might tear or wrinkle.
Allow the decal to sit undisturbed for 24 hours. It should be pretty secure after 1-2 but just to be sure we want it to totally dry out.
